Sangeet Celebration

The Sangeet is a fun, lively pre-wedding event full of music, dancing, and celebration. It’s a time for both families to come together, enjoy performances, and share in the joy before the big day!

How to Participate

  • Everyone is welcome to join in the dancing, cheer on performers, or just soak up the festive atmosphere.
  • If you’d like to perform, you are absolutely welcome to do so! Most people sing or dance, but if you’d like to do something else—like a comedy bit or a special reading—that’s great too.
  • You can pick whatever songs you like, but if you’d like to dance to an Indian song, here are some playlists to help you choose: Playlist 1, Playlist 2, and Playlist 3.
  • If you decide to perform, please let us know so we can coordinate with the DJ. We need to hear from you by August 20th — add a reminder: Google Calendar, Apple / iCal, Outlook.
  • If you want to do a dance but don’t want to do it alone, or if you’d like some guidance, reach out to the groom or the Best Wo-man. We’ll help you figure everything out and make it fun!

Attire

  • Traditional Indian outfits are optional but encouraged if you want to get into the spirit!
  • You can browse beautiful options at CBazaar or House of Indya.
  • Important: standard delivery can take up to 2 weeks, so it’s best to order early if you plan to wear something from these sites.
  • That said, you are never required to wear Indian clothes—just wear something comfortable and festive that you’ll enjoy.

Other Notes

  • The event is casual and all about celebrating together, so feel free to bring your energy and fun!
  • Don’t worry if you’re new to Indian music or dancing—we’ll guide you and make sure everyone has a great time.
